1) Pirate Radio movie 2009 – When rock was illegal in UK. Makes SO much more sense than Titanic.
2) “Snapshots in History’s Glare”-Gore Vidal-Includes photo of young Marlon Brando picking his nose.
3) Keith Richards “Life” – Wow, this is a treasure for guitarists and anyone who loves music.
4) Dick Cavett Show DVDs, Hollywood Greats and Rock Icons. I loved the show at the time, but it’s really remarkable in retrospect. Up to two-hour interviews with legendary actors and brilliant directors whose perspective so many years ago shows how visionary they were. Interviews and performances by rock legends, including Bowie in his first foray in public not in character. No one sparkles like he does. Plus a last-minute “day after Woodstock” show. Stills still had on his famous pancho and white pants with mud up to the knee. Hardcore 60s revolutionary leaders and their guitars fresh from the event that scared the shit out of everyone over 30. Watch the extras so you don’t miss the story about Cavett taking Janis Joplin to Sardi’s and then to see “Easy Rider” afterwards. I’d love to have been a fly on the wall to see her reaction. Truly, this DVD set beats hell out of almost anything I’ve seen in a long time. Don’t miss it.
